About Summit Wood Products

Hello!  My name is Kurt Lira and I own Summit Wood Products.  In the mid-1980s, I was building southwest style furniture for a company in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  One of our unique chair designs made it into Better Homes and Gardens. In 1999, I moved to Las Vegas and later, to Pahrump, Nevada. It was around this time I started building quilt ladders, quilt racks and turning seam rippers and pens to show and sell at Quilt Shows.  Presently, I also make custom portable storage boxes which we sell at Dog and/or Quilt Shows, and will soon be available online.  Every piece is handmade, one at a time, and I plan to keep it that way. It’s called Quality Control!

Other than building furniture, my second love is dogs. My wife and I frequent local dog clubs and  dog shows with our AKC Golden Retriever.
